Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Student guidance now available
Members of the public cannot always see the difference between a student nurse or midwife, and someone who is qualified and registered with the NMC . That is why a student's conduct is important in upholding the reputation of the professions, both when studying and in personal life.
The NMC Student Guidance for 2010 has now been published and copies have been sent to universities for distributions to their first year students, staff and mentors.
The guidance sets out the standards of personal and professional conduct for students and is also designed to prepare them for life as a registered nurse or midwife, while also helping mentors and academic staff to support students' learning and assess their fitness to practise.
