Health Professions Council: Consultation on Proposed Changes to Generic Standards of Proficiency
The Health Professions Council (UK) are consulting on proposed changes to the generic standards of proficiency. The standards of proficiency are the standards that it considers necessary for the safe and effective practice of professions it regulates. The changes are being proposed to ensure that the generic standards are applicable to all the professions the HPC regulates. There are consultations on a number of changes to the structure and wording of the generic standards. The HPC is proposing to reduce the number of generic standards to 15. Each of these generic standards would be overarching and applicable to all professions. The deadline for responses to the consultation is 20 October 2010.
Of particular interest to CAIPE is the proposal to reduce the 3 current standards which relate to Professional Relationships (1b1, 1b2 and 1b3) to one single standard.
CAIPE members are asked to send any comments they would wish to contribute to CAIPE's response to the consultation to admin@caipe.org.uk.by September 24th.
