HEA ASPiH Simulation Development Officers
The Higher Education Academy (HEA) and the Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare (ASPiH) are pleased to announce the creation of eight Simulation Development Officers (SDO).
These are consultancy opportunities funded for 30 days per individual for the duration of the project. Successful applicants will remain embedded within their HE/FEI or NHS institution but required to work with the ASPiH national project lead and advisors to ensure coordinated engagement with the project.
Officers will be located geographically across the UK and will work remotely with the HEA and ASPiH to achieve the objectives of the project. Working primarily within agreed geographical boundaries, individuals will collate, evaluate and enhance existing simulation-based learning activities within HEI and NHS facilities and enable the initiation of new educational activity.
In conjunction with ASPiH regional network contacts and HEA discipline leads, the overall project aims to help identify and implement ‘best practice’ related to previously described key principles of innovative and effective simulation-based healthcare education (SBHE) across the UK. One area of focus will be the development of standards and quality assurance processes applicable to all relevant education providers at the institutional level as well as for individual health and social care educators.
Deadline for applications is 2pm on 8 June 2012 (revised date). All interested applicants will be required to complete an expression of interest form.
To discuss these consultancy opportunities further please email Professor Bryn Baxendale, President, ASPiH or Mr Geoff Glover, Head of Health Sciences, HEA. Please use the term SDO Expression of Interest in the message title.
