Call for Papers on Interprofessional Projects, Practices, & Research For 2011/2012 Special Issue of: WORK: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment & Rehabilitation

Interprofessional practice implies an active relationship between two or more professionals who work together with patients/clients/consumers to optimize health care outcomes. As such, interprofessional education trains students and practitioners to be prepared for interprofessional practice.

This special issue of WORK will explore innovative models for interprofessional collaboration in local, national and international work and health settings, developments in interprofessional curriculum and training for students, faculty, therapists or health practitioners, new programs designed for specific populations (e. g. older adults, veterans, children, people with disabilities, immigrants, rural opulations) that utilize interprofessional practices, and new knowledge coming from the world of research.

Additionally WORK invites the submission of case studies and stories about collaborating with other professionals in the workplace. Finally, articles that examine
prevention, assessment and rehabilitation from varying professional and consumer perspectives are welcome.

Deadline for submission of manuscripts for the special issue is October 2010. Papers accepted for publication, but not in time for the special issue, will be published in subsequent issues of WORK.

Please submit papers in Word format as email attachments to Guest Editor
