CAIPE's response to the HPC Consultation on proposed changes to generic standards of proficiency
The Health Professions Council (UK) are consulting on proposed changes to the generic standards of proficiency. The standards of proficiency are the standards that it considers necessary for the safe and effective practice of professions it regulates. The changes are being proposed to ensure that the generic standards are applicable to all the professions the HPC regulates.
CAIPE has expressed concerns regarding the proposed new standards 8 and 9 intended to replace the current Standards 1b.1, 1b.2 and 1b.3. These 3 current standards focus importantly, on the way in which professions should work together.
CAIPE views with grave concern the removal of direct reference to the way in which professionals relate to each other and work together.
