Julia Rout

Julia is currently a full-time MSc Occupational Therapy student at the University of East Anglia.
Prior to studying, Julia worked at the Centre for Interprofessional Practice; part of the Institute of Health at the University of East Anglia (UEA). In this role she contributed to the expansion and development of their Interprofessional Learning (IPL) Programme for first-year students, organisation of the programme, and training for educational facilitators. The programme has now been a compulsory part of the undergraduate curriculum at UEA for the last 3 years, and includes students from the following professions: Medicine, Nursing (Adult, Learning Disability, Mental Health and Child branches), Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice, Paramedic Science, Pharmacy, Midwifery, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy.
Julia gained a BA (Hons) in Social Sciences with Psychology in 2001 and prior to joining UEA in 2003, her experience included working as a Community Care Assistant in a hospital setting, and an Assistant Psychologist providing a service for adults with severe/moderate learning disabilities. Whilst in these posts Julia had the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of working within interprofessional teams, where the ultimate aim was to provide the best patient/client care.
