Dr Marilyn Hammick


Co-opted Board Member and past Chair of CAIPE

Dr Marilyn Hammick has been a member of the CAIPE board since 2000 and was Chair of CAIPE from 2006 to 2008, previously being Joint Vice-Chair from 2003-6. She is a Research and Education Consultant whose work includes consultancy to Higher Education Funding Council for England Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning projects, Health Canada funded interprofessional education initiatives and the UK Department of Health's Creating an Interprofessional Workforce project. She advises on educational systematic review work, is Consultant to Best Evidence Medical Education (BEME) and the Research and Evaluation Learning and Teaching Consultant at the UK Higher Education Academy Health Sciences and Practice Subject Centre.

Her current work includes a BEME systematic review of the effectiveness of interprofessional education (with the JET research team) and facilitation of a HEA funded e-network for staff evaluating interprofessional education. She is committed to evidence informed practice and the robust evaluation of educational initiatives.
Marilyn is Visiting Professor of Interprofessional Education in Health and Social Care, School of Health Care Practice, Anglia Ruskin University and Associate Editor, Journal of Interprofessional Care. Amongst other publications she jointly authored:-
