Dr Liz Anderson

Member of the Board

Liz has experience in leading one of the countries first regional interprofessional education strategies in the UK, combining three universities and health and social care organisations to deliver ‘The Three Strand Model’. Students engage in IPE at the beginning, middle and end of their training and are assessed using a portfolio.

She has over 10 years experience of delivering patient/user/carer, centred, practice based IPE, which challenges front line workers to reflect on quality of care. A guide on how to set up The Leicester Model of Interprofessional Education is available through the Higher Education Academy (Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine). Workshops can be offered to any set of education partnerships wishing to set up and adapt this model for local use. The Model has been replicated locally, nationally and internationally.

She has designed and implemented an M level course that prepares both academic and practice teachers in the effective delivery and development of IPE with underpinning theory on related social sciences, organisational theory, and up to date theories of teaching for learning.

Liz has experience of organising national conferences in the East Midlands for IPE development.

Liz has forged international links with Japan.
