Dr Angus McFadyen

Angus has been a Member of CAIPE since 2005 and was elected to the Board in 2008. He is a Reader in Health Statistics at Glasgow Caledonian University and whilst not a health professional he has researched and published in many areas of health including physiotherapy, ophthalmology, nursing and, since 2005 in the area of interprofessional education. His main research interest include the psychometric properties of evaluation instruments, methodological issues and study designs and the analysis of the effect of rehabilitation interventions. He is currently the lead on a Scottish project, funded by NES, which aims to scope current IPE models in the Scottish HEI sector. He is also currently developing, with Professor Valerie Webster, a Scottish-wide AHP IPE project.

Angus has presented at various IPE conferences including ATBH III and IV and he has published three papers in the Journal of Interprofessional Education. He, along with Professor John Gilbert ran an IPE evaluation workshop for NHS Education Scotland [NES] in early 2009 and later this year he will have IPE presentations at EIPEN in Finland and at a health congress in Malawi.  He is also a Board Member of InterEd.
